Shawn's Command Center

Shawn convinced his roommates to play Starcraft with him and now it has grown to be an obsession. Shawn takes his Starcraft serious and requires the computer to be hooked up to the big screen TV. I need to find a good hobby while they play, because it could be hours before my computer or the TV is free.

Halloween

For Halloween this year, I decided to be Sarah Palin in light of the 2008 elections.
The library happened to be having a presidential look-alike contest on that day, so I signed up and gave my speech. I won of course.As new "vice president" I took my diplomatic relations to the next level, as seen here with me shaking hands with Korea. Just kidding, it's just Drew
By nightfall, Shawn's alter-ego emerged...The Black Ninja!
He made his own costume out of a few black t-shirts by cutting them up. He was so proud of his good work - mainly because he made it in the car on our 5-minute drive from his house to the PCC
He even made his own ninja shoes - made out of the old soles of his shoes and tied together with strips of a black t-shirt

They were "battling" the whole time we were standing in line to ride the "Haunted Lagoon" ride at the PCC

There were some zombie girls walking around too - they wanted to eat my black ninja, but I took care of them

The prey does not sense his presence due to his impressive camouflage...
He goes in for the kill...
And succeeds. The Black Ninja will have a tasty meal tonight.

Mrs. Sea Turtle

On the side of the road as you drive by Waimea Bay
You can see part of the beach behind us and some of the waves. The waves are starting to get pretty big around here. It looks really cloudy in these pictures, but it was actually a combination of clouds and VOG, which is volcano fog from the Big Island. This week the wind has been carrying it all the way over Maui and Molokai to us on Oahu! It has done nothing but ruin my sunny beach days :(
This was the destination of our little drive - to see the sea turtles on the beach!

My auntie told me the sea turtles like to come to this beach and crawl out into the sun. I was a little worried we would miss the opportunity since we got there at about 6 in the evening and there was no sunlight at all - in fact, the sea turtle volunteer people told us we were lucky to see one!

My Handsome Male Model

Shawn decided to wear his nice gray sweater to school one day because it was cloudy and rainy. He liked it so much, he asked me to take a picture of him with the ocean in the background. He even posed for the picture without me asking.

Shawn's 24th Birthday!

Shawn turned 24 on October 26th, so I made him two banana cream pies. It was my first time making it by myself! Although the graham cracker crust didn't look very pretty on the bottom, it tasted delicious! I think it's one of my favorite pies now too :) Happy Birthday my sweet!

Spam Musubi

I converted Shawn to eating spam, more specifically spam musubi - a block of rice with a slice of cooked spam on top wrapped with seaweed! MMM mmm We know our friend Andrew likes it and Nate hates it, but I don't have a picture of Shawn because he eats too fast! Hungry boy...
